Classic Club Calendar

List of events and trips planned for 2008 (will be periodically updated)

Jan. 24 -- Free Movie for Classic Club members only, at the Park Theatre. The movie, "August Rush", was viewed by 69 Classic Club members who also enjoyed a free soft drink and popcorn, compliments of Citizens National Bank.

Mar. 27 -- Birthday and Anniversary Party for the first quarter of 2008. 90 Classic Club members attended.

April 3-14 -- Springtime in the Carolinas Many great inclusions: Lincoln Museum, Springfield IL; Churchill Downs, KY; Jim Beam Distillery; Mammoth Caves; Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, TN; Great Smokey Mts.; Biltmore Estates; dinner at Paula Deen's (from TV Food Network)restaurant in Savannah, GA; guided horsedrawn carriage tour there; Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston, SC; Myrtle Beach, SC; lighthouses of the Outer Banks, NC; Wright Brothers Museum at Kittyhawk. We traveled with World Class Tours and the banks from Bemidji and Otsego. 24 Classic Club members took part.

May 15 - Old Log Theater "Forever Plaid" - Fun one-day trip to see a great show with included dinner at the theater in Excelsior, MN. 41 members enjoyed this day.

June 6 -- Birthday and Anniversary Party for the second quarter of 2008. 87 Classic Club members came at noon, even though Park Rapids and Hubbard County had experienced severe storms and a tornado that morning!

Aug. 5-17 - Aug. 5-17 -- The Grand Tour of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. A well-balanced 13-day vacation in Scandinavia includes Stockholm, Helsingborg, ferry to Denmark, Fredriksborg Castle, Copenhagen, Vemork, Latefoss Waterfall, Hardangerfjord, Bergen, Lillehammer and Oslo and so much more. A once in a lifetime experience. 22 members going with room for 6 more as of May 1, 2008.

Aug. 27 -- Breakfast at the Rapid River Logging Camp. Join fellow club members in this unique “cook shanty” north of Park Rapids for a lumberjack’s breakfast.

Sept. 11,12,13 -- Winning Winnipeg. 3 day/2 night trip includes Club Regent Casino and Hotel, McPhillips St. Station Casino, receive $60 in cash coupons, 3-hr. City Tour with local guide, comfortable coach, option night at the Assiniboia Downs Race Track, time at The Forks mid-town. Cost: $199 each, double occupancy. Final RSVP/Pay Sept. 3.

September -- Birthday and Anniversary Party for the third quarter of 2008. For Classic Club members.

End of Sept. or first of Oct. -- A wonderful "Color" tour of the Lake Country Scenic Byway. Spend the day aboard a comfortable coach viewing the spectacular autumn colors in the Walker-Park Rapids-Detroit Lakes area.

Oct. 2,3,4,5- Hostfest in Minot, ND. North America's largest Scandinavian heritage festival. Headliners this year are Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis and Daniel O'Donnell. This trip sold out so fast it made the Club Director's head swim!

Oct. 5-6 -- A quick trip to Minot, just to see Daniel O'Donnell. His concert at Hostfest sold out so quickly, he agreed to do an additional show Sunday at 5 p.m. If you're a fan of this great Irish tenor, this is the trip for you.

Oct. 23 -- Geritol Frolics in Brainerd. A fun, fun day with lots of good music and “senior” entertainment.

Nov. 20-25- Branson at Christmas. See Spirit of Christmas Show with the Osmonds; Daniel O'Donnell; Yakov Smirnoff; the new award winning show Six; and Noah, the Musical on a fabulous new 300-foot wraparound stage. Many more sights and sounds (7 shows, total) included. 38 members signed up as of May 1st.

Dec. -- The 12th Annual Classic Club Christmas Party. We’ll also celebrate the fourth quarter birthdays and anniversaries that day.

On-Going

Coffee and cookies served in the Classic Club Room each month on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd for club members only. The Classic Club Room is a great place to stop while shopping or doing errands to have a cup of coffee, catch your breath or use the restroom. The Club Room is located only steps away from the bank's south parking lot.
